EU code | 4d14 |
EU approval (content mg/kg complete feed) | Minimum content: 500 mg/kg feed Maximum content: 1000 mg/kg feed |

Storage stability | After six months of storage at either 25°C or 40°C no losses could be detected in the product. When added to a vitamin/mineral premix virtually no loss of benzoic acid was detected after three months of storage. The stability of the product when added to a complete mash or pelleted feed was investigated with three batches of the product. After three months of storage the remaining content of benzoic acid in the mash feed was ≥93% and the corresponding figure in the pelleted feed ≥87% |
Heat stability | No data on heat stability available |
Physical state of product and appearance | The particle size distribution was analysed with laser diffraction. A total of 0.01% of the particles were <100 µm. The dusting potential ranged from 0.01 to 0.025 g/m3 |
Distribution in feed | The distribution of the product in premixes and complete feed was tested by collecting 10 subsamples from the premix and feed. The analytical results showed that the CV in premix was 2.7% and in mash feed 2.0%. |
Safety and handling | If potential risks cannot be avoided during handling, those risks must be eliminated using personal protective equipment. |
