Technical specifications of Cinergy® Life B3 HiCon

EU category
Zootechnical additive

Functional group of additives
Gut flora stabiliser

Active substance
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens (NRRL B-50508)
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens (NRRL B-50509)
Bacillus subtilis (NRRL B-50510)

Contains a minimum of 2.5 x 109 CFU/g product of Bacillus spp. with a ratio of 1:1:1 of the active substances

EU approval
There is no maximum inclusion for the animal categories below
Pigs for fattening: 1.5 x 108 CFU/kg feed
Minor porcine species for fattening: 1.5 x 108 CFU/kg feed

End of period of authorisation
25 August 2029

EU code
4b1893

Recommended dosage
Inclusion rate to meet minimum dosage: 60 g/ton feed

Product storage stability
The Bacillus count was not reduced in three batches of the product stored for two years at either 25°C 60% RH or 40°C 75% RH.

Storage stability in feed premix
The Bacillus count was measured in a vitamin-mineral premix supplemented with 1 x 1011 CFU/g. The premix was stored for six months at 25°C. After six months of storage, the bacillus count was within  ±0.5 log10 CFU/g.

Heat stability
Storage and heat stability were measured in mash feed and pelleted feed. The pelleted feed was produced at 95°C for 30 s. The mash and pelleted feeds were stored for three months at 25°C. The subsequent analyses showed virtually no loss of Bacillus.

Physical properties
The particle size distribution was measured using laser diffraction. The fraction of particles smaller than 100 µm was 2% (v/v), and 0.7 % was smaller than 10 µm. The dusting potential was 0.2 g/m3.

Three batches of the product were used to test its homogeneous mixing capacity. Ten sub-samples of mash feed were collected. The CV was 1 %.

Handling
Wearing protective equipment, including breathing and skin protection, is recommended.
