|Storage stability||Three batches of the product were stored for 12 months at either 22°C or 37°C. More than 95% of the active substances were detected at the low temperature whereas more than 90% was detected at the higher temperature.
Three batches of the product were supplemented to a vitamin/mineral premix and stored for 6 months at 22°C in sealed containers. After 6 months of storage, the residual activity ranged from 87% to 95% with methyl salicylate being the least stable.A single batch of the product was added to mash feed and stored in a sealed container at 22°C for 5 months. The rate of recovery ranged from 87% to 97% with methyl salicylate again being the least stable component.
|Heat stability||Mash feed supplemented with the additive was pelleted at either 80°C or 90°C. Samples of the mash feed and the pelleted feed were analysed for the active substances. When pelleted at 80°C the rate of recovery ranged from c. 65% to 90% and c. 59% to 85%, respectively, at 90°C. Samples of the pelleted feed were furthermore stored for 5 months. The storage reduced the activity of the active substances by a further 20%.|
|Product appearance||The product has an off-white colour. The product does not contain particles below 10 µm in diameter. Mean dusting potential is 0.03 g/m3|
|Distribution in feed||Homogeneity was tested in premixes, mash and pelleted feed supplemented with the product. Coefficient of Variance of carvone in the premix was 5.1%, in the mash feed 6.3% and in the pelleted feed 5.9%.|
