Product storage stability
Product storage stability    Samples from three batches were stored in closed containers for six months at 25, 30 or 40°C. The remaining enzyme activity was the following:

25°C: 90%
30°C: 84%
40°C: 60%

Storage stability in premix and feed
Three batches were added to a vitamin-mineral premixture and stored in closed plastic bags for up to 6 months at 25°C. The residual enzyme activity was 75% after three months and 79% after six months.

Storage stability in feed was tested in both mash and pelleted feed. The product was supplemented to a complete feed for poultry and stored for three months at 25°C. In the mash feed, 62% of the initial enzyme activity was recovered, whereas no activity loss could be detected in the pelleted feed.

Heat stability
The product was added to a poultry feed and pelleted at 81°C. The enzymatic activity was 84% in the mash feed before pelleting and 49% after pelleting. A lower pelleting temperature was also tested. At 68°C, the rate of recovery was 95% after pelleting.

Homogeneity
The product consists of enzyme concentrate, wheat meal and starch.
Six different product batches showed a mean enzyme activity of 15 317 EPU/g with a CV of 6.6 %.
Particle size was analysed in three batches of the product. The particles below 100, 52 and 18 µm were 2.4%, 1.3% and 0.5%, respectively.

Handling
The European Union states: "For users of the additive and premixtures, feed business operators shall establish operational procedures and organisational measures to address potential risks resulting from their use. Where those risks cannot be eliminated or reduced to a minimum by such procedures and measures, the additive and premixtures shall be used with personal protective equipment, including skin, eyes and breathing protection."
