Product storage stability

Solid product: After 24 months of storage in the bag at 25°C, the remaining xylanase activity was above 90 %. When stored for six months at 40°C the recovery rate of xylanase was 79%

Liquid product: After 12 months of storage in a plastic bottle at 25°C, the remaining xylanase activity was above 88 %. When stored for six months at 40°C the recovery rate of xylanase was above 79%

Storage stability in premix and feed
A premixture containing the solid Hostazym X was stored for six months at either 25°C or 35°C. The mean rate of recovery was 93% and 80% at 25°C and 35°C, respectively.  Pelleted feed supplemented with solid Hostazym X was stored for three months at either 25°C or 35°C. The mean rate of recovery was above 90% and above 80% at 25°C and 35°C, respectively.

Pelleted feed supplemented with liquid Hostazym X was stored for three months at either 25°C or 35°C. The mean rate of recovery was above 90% and above 83% at 25°C and 35°C, respectively.

Heat stability
When pelleting at temperatures between 65 and 75°C, more than 90 % of the initial xylanase activity was recovered.

Homogeneity
Subsamples of mash or pelleted feed supplemented with the product (solid or liquid) were collected and analysed. The CV ranged from 7.0 to 14.3% with the solid product and 5.8 to 11.4 with the liquid.

Physical properties
The Particle size distribution was studied, and it was found that around 98% of the particles are bigger than 100 μm.
A dusting potential test showed that both formulations´ dusting potential is 0 g per m3
