Product storage stability
The product was stored for 12 months at two different temperatures: 22°C, 37-40°C
Remaining enzymatic activity (12 months and 22°C)
glucanase: >75%
cellulase (endo-1,4-beta-glucanase): 100%
amylase: >76%
bacillolysin: >80%
xylanase: >80%
Remaining enzymatic activity (12 months and 37-40°C)
glucanase: >75%
cellulase (endo-1,4-beta-glucanase): >96%
amylase: >57%
bacillolysin: >79%
xylanase: >58%
Storage stability in premix and feed
The product was added to a vitamin-mineral premix for sows and to mash feed based on wheat, maize and soya beans. Samples of the premix were stored for six months, and samples of the mash feed were stored for three months at room temperature. Enzyme activities were stable both in the premix and the feed.
Heat stability
Heat stability was tested in chicken feed pelleted at 60-70°C and 70-80°C. At the low pelleting temperature, enzymatic activity ranged from 82% to 94 %. The results for the highest pelleting temperatures ranged from 80 to 95% remaining enzymatic activity.
Homogeneity
The product was tested for its homogeneous mixing ability in the feed. Subsamples of mash and pelleted feed supplemented with the product were analysed.
Coefficient of variance in mash and pelleted feed:
Glucanase: 11 - 25%
Cellulase: 7 - 23%
Amylase: 17 - 26%
Protease: 12 - 27%
Xylanase: 9 - 11%
Physical properties
A dusting potential test showed that the product has an average dusting potential of 4g/m3.
Laser diffraction was used to determine the particle size distribution. The test showed that 50% of the particles were smaller than 67 µm, 26 % were below 10 µm and 10 % were smaller than 2 µm
Carrier
Calcium carbonate, bentonite, fractions of yeast and vegetable oil
Package size
25 kg paper bags or 500 kg or 1000 kg big bags
Handling
The European Commission states: "For users of the additive and premixtures, feed business operators shall establish operational procedures and organisational measures to address potential risks resulting from its use. Where those risks cannot be eliminated or reduced to a minimum by such procedures and measures, the additive and premixtures shall be used with personal protective equipment, including breathing protection and skin protection."
